300 is quite possibly the most plotless, over hyped, vacuous film that I have seen in all my life.

I got my response from BT about my application to do a summer placement, turns out they have had a bunch of applications and that they don’t want to pursue mine any further. In otherwords bugger off :P. Oh well, I will just have to hold out for the Canada placement I am hoping to get.
 
In other less interesting stuff I worked like crazy on my dissertation implementation yesterday so now I have got a bunch of new features added. Hopefully when I meet my project supervisor at 2pm I will be able to get a bit of guidence towards how to proceed from now till the final deadline in (I think) 2 weeks time.
 
Better get back to work.

I finally got a response to my application to go work at BT during the summer in a placement. So I have just taken a psychometric test involving some numerical and verbal reasoning. 
 
I think the verbal reasoning seemed to go really well, since I had around 5 minutes left at the end to check the answers. The numerical reasoning part was not quiet so good, found it a lot tougher, and got a little stuck at times. However I answered a similar number of questions to one of my friends that has also taken it, so hopefully that would be ok.
 
Apart from that I have set a meeting to speak with my project supervisor tomorrow which should be interesting since I don’t have as much done as I would have hoped, oh well.
 
Anyway better get onto the dissertation work.

I was finally getting down to some serious work implementing stuff for my dissertation, when I ran in to massively annoying bug. Everytime I resized a window containing a form that I was building half the fields would decide that they prefered dissapearing. Anyway leaving my dissertation aside, I have been play Halo 2 a little bit recently since I was feeling like playing something a bit more retro. 
 
I guess I better get back to it, and I have to check on my dinner of pies and chips.

I got up nice and fresh this morning all ready to be motivated, and then I heard someone at the door. It was one of my flatmates coming back from visiting back home, and there in an instant goes a solid chance of me getting any work done today.
 
Oh well, better luck tomorrow.

I just thought I would blog about that fact I have actually found at least a small part of my motivation and got some disseration work done today. I have done a few bits of programming on my crypto tool, and added some cool fading effects when you put the focus onto text input fields.
 
Just a bit random, anyway I am definitly letting my EVE subscription lapse on sunday. If I am going to have any hope of getting through the huge pile of work in between me and the end of the holidays I am going to need to reduce my distractions, and with EVE being at the top of the distraction list its got to go.
 
No fun for me (except maybe 360 stuff)

Appearently the Halo 3 beta is going to be coming on May 16th which is awsome, and even better it ends just before Mass Effect comes out.
 
Anyway I am trying to get some more coursework done today, but before I get stuck into that I think I might have some pies, beans and chips.

Well I am back in Swansea in an effort to try and actually get some work done. I am setup again but as always you have to fight the envitable lack of motivation that ensues from having a pile of work to do. 
 
In the mean time I have been having a blast playing EVE Online again, recently a little while ago I joined an alliance (similar to guilds in something like WoW only much bigger) and been having a great time. Only problem being is it is such a big distraction, I think I am going to cancel my subscription at the end of this week so that I can get some actual work done more easily. At least I will only have the 360 to distract me then….
